FAQ

What is Polished plaster?

Polished plaster is a collective name for a variety of Italian plaster finishes. Types of Polished plaster include Venetian plaster/Marmorino, a slaked lime and crushed marble product which is applied to walls and ceilings and burnished to reveal a marble like finish. Invented centuries ago and used on the buildings in Venice, Venetian plaster created the opulent look of marble without the weight of actual marble on the walls. Polished plasters can create a rough textured finish, giving the appearance of Travertine or Limestone.
